Well it's been over a month since my last entry, but I will make this one count. Bush is back in office, his cronies hold a majority in both the house and senate, and he is likely to appoint two new justices to the Supreme Court during his second term. The wet dream of the conservatives has come true. Now our country has a hell of alot of problems (despite what Dubya says) so what is going to happen? I have no clue, but I am scared.  Now that the Republicans control the three branches they have the chance to change this country dramatically.

So these are the questions that fill my mind.

Bush has said he will not change any thing about the way the war in Iraq is waged.  We are losing troops, our military is spread thin over two active fronts in addition to places like Korea and there is a serious lack of volunteers for the armed forces. If Bush continues on his course where will the replacements for the army come from?

The Evangelical Christian right has some plans for our civil rights, including defining marriage on a national level, limiting or banning abortion, and further blurring the lines of church and state. What is going to happen to the people whose morals do not fall in line with the right, will they be respected?

The Patriot act has already made it possible for the government to look into many of our private records like computer and library transaction. What will be the state of the right to privacy in four years?

I welcome any comments good or bad.

Oh and the song i picked was a good protest song from the 60's, yeah it pertains to Vietnam, but Country Joe's cynical attitude is starting to reflect my own. I just know I will never stop caring. To the other memers of the 49% minority we must stand strong and fight. The next four years may very well determine how history views our generation.

I woke up this morning and everything was bright and vivid.  I spent the evening with a friend of mine, and the experience renewed me.  I walked around campus for a while and admired the beauty of an Autumn Sunday.  One tree was turning yellow and it was magnificent.  I was riding high on the heady high of connecting with someone special.

So far the rest of the day has been spent in a futile attempt to do work, but i keep getting distracted.  I was online researching some unknown historian when I felt the need to buy some music. I am looking forward to recieving these new CDs come fall break.

Well i must go back to attempting to be productive, but i know i will have trouble, the day is too beautiful to spend in the company of a good book.

Oh man it's been too long! I have so much to talk about. First off, I spent this past Friday down in DC with my friend Gary from High School. After a field strip where I met senator Dole among others, and the Holocaust museum was very moving. We saw Shaun of the Dead and polished off a handle of Smirnoff in the theater. We left this amazing movie drunk as shit and wandered into Georgetown. There was a bagpiper so he played and we danced, and gary bought a hookah.  Back at the dorm we smoked the hookah with this girl Abbie and some other chick who was a hookah hog.  So i stayed up met some bums and went on a quest for tin foil. I will be back in 2 weeks to see The Pietasters! The next day was spent traveling back to Shit Towne, sleeping, but the end of the night involved various deeds with Aidan, Jess, and Sean. I finally got to see Clone High. Funny Shit.

Now i have iTunes and i am failing at adding my music. I have only 600 songs, but my friends have over 1000! Oh well!.

Flogging Molly tonight, and then i get back to work!

Odd day man! I woke up with a sore throat from a night of partying I would like to forget oh well! (def. no more wednesdays at phi psi). The mikes down the hall have their douchebag friend Dex from Drexel staying over for 5 days. First off the kid is a natural asshole, but then when he drinks alot (which he always seems to do) it gets worse. Nothing has happened yet, but we all have been telling the mikes to watch him or something bad will happen. Other than that shit's been cool. I was in history of Nazi Germany today, which was so cool (I do so much work for the class, but i love it), Jazz History brought the awesome as it always does. I sat next to Bayou Baynum and talked a bit, but for the most part I was a good student. Came back home with all intentions of doing work, but ended up playing Spider Man 2 all night. The road to hell is paved with good intentions, and Republicans.
